Mat watched District Ten, watching the little boy's face as he was reaped and nobody stood up to take his place. It was disgusting, really, having a kid that age put into a situation like the hunger games. The girl looked more composed, she was their age again, as the majority of the other tributes seemed to be. There wasn't anything overly notable about them, though.
District Eleven - Jay Jeveanlie was the girl tribute, and she seemed completely stoic standing up there on the stage. Mat wished he could see into people's heads sometimes to see if they were actually feeling what they were displaying, or if it were all an act. Again she was their age. Mat was starting to feel a bit uncomfortable - he was building up a list of names and images of tributes in his head, knowing that they would be as enemies to him in the arena. Well, at least there was only one more district to get to, then they could turn it off.

[atrb=width,440] don't make me go home GIVE ME SOMETHING TO REMEMBER Elizza hadn't known what to think of District 11. The girl tribute had seemed to have a certain confidence. That wasn't very usual for 11. She of course looked around their age. She remembered the faces and names of the two tributes before District 12 reapings appeared on the screen. Nobel Dunbrill and Kataleen Laru. Once again, older. There were only a couple young ones in the games. They hadn't seen District 1 nor 3 yet, so there was still a chance that there would be a different variety in age. Not that she wanted any more young ones.
The host and announcer rapped up the recaps, saying a few comments about that years hunger games. Elizza's eyes stayed on the screen a bit longer as it all came to an end. Those were the tributes, her new opponents in the games. The ones she was going to soon be out to hunt and kill. Shaking the thought from her mind, Elizza looked to Matrim who seemed to be taking it all in. Those were only reapings, they had a load more coming.
She felt bad for the way she acted earlier and wanted to apologize. If she were going to be allying up with him she didn't want him to think she was a shrew. "Sorry... for earlier. I was just..." she began, unfolding her arms.

Again there were no young ones in District Twelve. Sure, they hadn't seen One or Three yet, but they would most likely have older Careers who had volunteered, even if a young person was reaped. So there would only be a few younger children, and even they could be dangerous in their own way. Enough twelve-year-olds had won the Games in the past for Mat to be wary of any tribute, no matter how they looked.
He glanced up at Elizza as she spoke. "Don't worry about it. It makes sense for us to be wary of each other, so your reaction made sense. It's just, if someone is going to win these Games, I'd like it to be someone from our District. If we have a strong alliance within the Careers, it makes it more likely that one of us will come out on top at the end." It was true - if Mat wasn't going to win himself, he would prefer Elizza win than anyone from the other Districts.

[atrb=width,440] don't make me go home GIVE ME SOMETHING TO REMEMBER Elizza thought a second on what he had to say about it. She would rather have someone from her district win if she didn't, and that would be Matrim. Either way it had to be District 2. She gave a nod and said quietly, "Okay." She understood that a stronger alliance within the career pack would give both of them a better chance, because then it wasn't exactly every man for himself.
Elizza was still unsure for some reason, but Mat seemed pretty confident with the idea. She let it pass and decided that it was good time to get to her room.
"Well, I guess I'll see you later," she said before making her way back to her compartment. She walked off and into her compartment, not exactly wanting to discuss any more. She had seen the majority of the tributes, and Hestia was most likely going to summon her if she were needed. Besides she had enough to think about on her own.
