Okay so she didn't know where they were going, great they could have ended up anywhere but she didn't seemed too worried so he figured she knew her way and if he really needed to he could ask her how to get out of here, she seemed trustworthy for someone he'd just met, he wasn't sure why but he felt like she was no threat, to him anyway.
The reaction he got from her when he asked if she was okay was one he probably should have expected, why do i care? he thought, he didn't even know, he'd only just met her but he did he was concerned for her. "I have a superhero complex i guess" he said with a shrug, he wasn't sure but he did. "What's wrong?" he asked, he knew something was up, if something wasn't she'd have just claimed to be okay and they would have moved on.

Elizza watched him closely as he shrugged at the excuse. A small smirk shown through her curious frown. He asked what was wrong and she could have almost scoffed. But she had to remember, he didn't know anything about the lives in the districts. Or even the careers. And Elizza having been one herself, almost found it as a good and bad thing. After contemplating whether to answer truthfully or not, she looked to the ground almost hoping it would give her some sort of answer. Unfortunately it didn't work. No duh. Elizza let her gaze travel back to Thane before speaking up. With a lift of her shoulder she said, “I live to train. Nothing more, nothing less. Anymore.”
Her tone was almost vile and the answer upset her. It was the truth, one that she didn't say aloud most of the time. At that point she thought of just walking away or going back away from the area. Instead she stayed put, crossing her arms. She raised a brow at him, knowing that he couldn't do anything to help her case. He had only been a musician, not even close to related to the games. Even if he were related to the games, there would be nothing to do about it. It was her problem, not anyone else. She hadn't felt like ranting at the moment anyway, especially not to someone from the Capitol. It didn't seem the smartest move at any time.
Elizza hadn't necessarily hated the games, she trained nonetheless. The only thing she had hated was the loss of her friend. It was something that would never leave her. After that point in time, her life was practically gone and with no purpose, but to train to become a victor in the games. Many kids and teens wanted that in District 2, and she was of course one of them. Careers may be blood thirsty, but their true purpose was to bring pride to the districts and claim victory. Elizza, however, was a bit different. Not associating herself with many others to gain focus for vengeance.

He was happy and she seemed like she was anything but happy. "What happened to you to make you like this?" he asked curiously, maybe people in the districts were just born like this or maybe she'd had something traumatic happen.
He didn't know but he wanted to, he wanted to understand what was going on he didn't want to be one of those other naive capitol citizens who didn't know jack about the districts but he was. He'd change that though, somehow. "Nothing so beautiful should be so.. hurt" he thought out loud, he didn't like it one bit, sure he'd hurt a lot of peoples feelings in his time but nothing as bad as she seemed.
There was something wrong and he knew it and he wanted to help but he didn't know how. "You can tell me, your the only person i know here so i'm not gonna tell anyone and you'll feel better letting it off your chest, come on let me help you" he said looking deep into her eyes, this wasn't even about getting some action anymore this was about helping someone out and feeling good about himself, he still thought she was pretty hot though.

Elizza frowned at the silly question. He almost seemed as if it may have been just her. Maybe it was, or maybe she had been the only one to live that way. That would be impossible. She was closer to those in other districts than the Capitol was, no matter if she had been or not. They all shared the same feeling: fear and sorrow. They all had to go through the Hunger Games in some way, whether it were a friend, a neighbor, a loved one, or even your partner in school, everyone went through. Either cheering, or mourning, or watching with eager intensity for one from their own district to win. This was something only the districts would share, this man knew none of it.
She hadn't even felt like answering such a question. Then again she knew he had to know. This would be her one chance to show how she had really felt to someone that could use her emotions and express them to Panem. Although, that would just get his tongue cut off. Even though she never really favored music, she appreciated what it could do. After a moment she started to speak. “I can't even-” Elizza stopped herself as he thought out loud. Was he calling her beautiful? Sure many people had, but hearing it from a Capitol civilian, someone who would normally thin that painted bodies and elaborate clothing was beautiful, it seemed odd. Although, he didn't look like many Capitols she'd seen in the past or on television, he looked rather normal despite the colors and accessories. She'd think that they would find people here rather interesting, not that, unless of course they were dressed to impress before the games. Elizza took the compliment but only stared at him as he spoke once more.
She could really tell he wanted to help, and he didn't seem to be much of a threat. The only problem was that she never really spoke to people about the matter, she differed in ideas and actually barely spoke to people in general. Unless of course they had come out of their way to speak to her. Elizza moistened her lips before gathering herself. The only problem with telling is that is has to do with where you live. She didn't care what others thought of her opinion, she only wanted to keep herself safe, until the Reaping.
Elizza's gaze fell to the ground. “I can't let it off my chest...” She looked back to Thane and pursed her lips before going on. “You ever thought the games had some affect on the people living here? I'm a Career. How do think it would affect me?” The blonde decided to test him on the subject. She was curious on his thoughts of it all.

He'd also never seen someone so tough yet so delicate too, it was unusual and he liked it, she was strong, independence and powerful yet there was something delicate and fragile behind that, Thane knew it was there but he didn't know what it was and that's what made him curious, he wanted to know about her and he wouldn't stop till he did. Some of the people of the capitol probably wouldn't have found her beautiful, but Thane was different, he always had been, he wasn't sure why but he found all sorts of things beautiful, both people dressed plainly and extravagantly and somehow his style had made its way halfway between sometime leaning towards the more plain and sometimes towards the more extravagant depending on the occasion.
When she told him she couldn't let it off her chest the first thing that came to his mind was Why?. He took both her hands and looked into her eyes "If you don't want to tell me, fine but it'd help you if you did, i don't have to tell anyone or do anything about it if you don't want me to" he told her then let her hands go, his own hands falling to his sides.
Thane understood the games had an effect on the people in the districts, but he'd never really thought about the career's at all. "I know they have an effect, people loose loved ones, but i guess you as a career.." he said then stopped to think about what he was going to say "You get to save somebody from that by doing it yourself, you get to be a hero of sorts, you may not make it out alive, but your making a difference" he spoke saying the words as they came to his head, maybe he was glorifying it too much and it was nothing like that but he wanted to learn and she could teach him.
"Or your a psycho and you enjoy killing" he added quickly as an after though, he hoped she wasn't the second. "I wanna learn more about this kinda stuff, more about your way of life.. more about you" he told her with a small smile, scratching the back of his neck, he'd come to district two looking for inspiration for a song, he'd found something interesting, that he'd spend his time on but it wasn't a song it was a person. Essentially he'd got no work done whatsoever and this trip had become more personal than business.

She wasn't sure why it had been so difficult for her to say. Was it that she couldn't find the words or maybe it was still a mystery to herself, either way she wasn't quite sure. One thing she was sure about was her purpose as a Career. It had been the main problem even though she would never admit it, since she was a hardworking career. Elizza found that she had enjoyed training and preparing herself for the games, but when it came down to the deepest meaning, she became conflicted. Elizza listened to his answer carefully, relaxing a bit as she stood there. She didn't interrupt, only took in the answer.
It seemed only a tad bit glorified to her, but she had to remember that he didn't live here. Although the answer may have fit someone else. Who exactly? She didn't know, but there had to have been a career out there with that in mind. The effect was larger than his explanation, but she didn't say a word on it. It didn't seem fair to start bashing on the lives of the people in the districts so much to someone who couldn't relate. Elizza scoffed at the latter response. There were some people that had enjoyed killing, she knew for a fact she hadn't been one of them.
He didn't seem to stop trying and Elizza came to conclusion that he wouldn't. It wasn't something she'd always want to talk about, but she had to remember it may be good for at least one Capitol civilian to know their lifestyle a bit more. Thane seemed just the right person at the moment. She shook her head before he spoke again. He had wanted to really know. She still didn't understand, however, what about her that was so interesting. No one usually gave her the time of day anymore, but she didn't mind. His smile was inviting and Elizza's gaze fell to the ground again. She looked around them, not really wanting to stay standing there much longer. “Can we sit?” she asked gesturing towards a nearby tree on the outskirts of the little houses. She didn't exactly wait for an answer before she headed over to the tree and sat cross legged next to it. Elizza had forgotten that he probably didn't want to sit on the ground, probably too dirty for his clothing or something. “If you don't wanna sit, your loss.”
Elizza waited a moment, as she leaned on her hands behind her. Getting back to her point, she gathered her thoughts before saying, “Careers are there to get people killed, to add some action into the games. They make it interesting to watch. So basically we are there to move the games along, hoping to get victory, but somehow knowing that we wont, that we are just the killers.” She paused a moment before continuing. She had hoped it made sense, because it was a little difficult to explain. “It's almost like preparing for failure. But, for me? I have nothing more to loose, the others actually are the ones having the fun, waiting for the day they can volunteer into the games to show off and then loose their purpose of bringing pride to their district. I have nothing here anymore. No one would care if I died in the games. But I don't plan to. That's why all I do is train and avoid going home most of the time.” The answer was truthful, but she hoped he wouldn't ask any further, but she knew he would, he had wanted to understand everything better.

When he asked if they could sit he shrugged, he was fine with sitting so he followed her over to the tree and watched her sit down, smirking at what she said afterwards he let out a small laugh. "I don't mind a little dirt" he told her sitting himself down, he wasn't like most of the people of the capitol, he liked getting a little dirty now and then, he liked feeling gritty and rebellious although he never would actually rebel, he wasn't crazy enough or brave enough.
He sat and listened to what she had to say, his eyes were opening up to an entire part of the games he hadn't even really thought too much about before. It was like there was already a door in his mind but it had been locked and she'd just came along with the key and opened it up for him. He wasn't even sure how to respond to what he had heard, he opened his mouth to say something but closed it straight afterwards, he had nothing to say, he'd have to just sit and think for a while and process what she had just said until he could come up with something decent to answer with.
"So your different, The exception to the rule" he stated his mind still working at about a thousand miles per hour, Maybe it was fate that had brought him to the career who was in it because there was nothing left or maybe it was luck he didn't know but he was glad he'd stumbled upon her. "I think i understand now" he said letting the words slowly roll off his tongue, he wasn't sure if he actually did but his brain was filled with all sorts of new thoughts, he'd recieved what he was looking for, inspiration. Inspiration called Elizza.

Elizza thought that maybe she could change all of this, however she didn't really want to. It didn't seem right that she had thought that was the only way out. Although she had to remember her friend Gabrielle. There was no way to let that death pass. Her reasons have stayed for more than two years now. She was proud of her answer, how she could hopefully make it make sense. Of course it had to her. But for Thane, he seemed to be taking in everything she had just thrown at him. A whole new world in the games practically. And that was only her part of the story, it had to have been quite different for the others who weren't careers. That wasn't in her interest anyway. She had other things to worry about rather than how the other districts felt.
She waited in silence for a response. Maybe he didn't have an answer for that, was it that he hadn't got it or hadn't cared to re-think his image of them? She doubted the latter, even though it would be highly possible. He had been the only Capitol she had spoken to on the matter, not like the ones she had spoken to that were recruiting for work. Elizza still hoped he would understand and maybe even get something from it. Even knowing that he would go back to the Capitol knowing that little element would make her happy. Especially if she were to volunteer that year.
She tilted her head at his answer, nodding in an yes and no kind of way. It made sense, but was still a little iffy in her mind. Elizza had to think about that before saying anything. It was funny, the way he had referenced it as a rule. She looked to Thane as he stated that he understood. She sat up a bit, in almost surprise that he might understand, that a Capitol might be catching on. “Really?” she asked.
The blonde instantly regretted it. She bet he was tired of stereotyping the Capitol civilian, especially since he was quite different than most. Elizza felt bad for judging him before really knowing him first, she tended to do that with many Capitol people. He had been pretty cool with her and she was still thinking of him as just another one of those fakes. She quickly added after she had asked, “I mean good then.” She bit her lip hoping he didn't really get the reason why she asked if he really did. Elizza may be tactless at times, but that didn't mean she was going to be rude.

He'd managed to open his mind up to an entire new variety of thoughts and feelings that she had shown him. He wasn't sure how he was going to do it but he'd have liked to do the same for her, he wasn't sure if he even could though.
Thane let out a small laugh as she said really, he knew why she didn't think he would get it, it was because he was a capitol citizen, he could blame her though a lot of people from the capitol probably wouldn't have understood it and the fact she tried to take it back meant she cared somewhat. "Yeah i understood, i'm more than just a pretty face you know" he joked with a smile, trying to turn the conversation away from being about stereotypical capitol citizens which it could have easily became about.
"If your ever in the capitol, look me up.. you've taught me about your world, i'll teach you something about mine" he said with a small smile then added "It might not be like a typical capitol citizens life but it's an entire world away from what you'd be used to" he felt like somehow he'd made a connection with her, he'd only recently met her and yet he cared about her, she seemed so fragile under that strong exterior and he had a feeling not many people could see that.
Without even thinking he kissed her on the cheek, as soon as he did it he began to expect a slap, he'd kiss people in the capitol all the time and would constantly be getting slapped but only a few times did he kiss someone in a spur of the moment kind of thing like he had then, he didn't know why he'd done it but it had felt like the right thin to do. "You're somewhat amazing Elizza" he told her honestly expressing his opinion, he still wondered what it was that was so bad she was hiding, he knew there was more but it was up to her to tell him and if she wasn't going to then well thats her business.

“Sorry...” Elizza murmured. She had a feeling he would catch on to her save. Although she pursed her lips, trying to hold back a remark and trying to slap on a smile as well. It didn't seem to work, the slight frown was still occupying her soft face. He didn't seem like the kind of person to get too offended by those sort of things. At least she didn't really need worry about that. But who could blame her for thinking that? Many others had, some way worse than she had. Thane had changed that in some ways.
Elizza listened to Thane as he spoke. A small smile came on her face at the offer. Unfortunately she knew that if she were ever to visit the Capitol, she would arrive as a tribute in the games. She had to volunteer this year no matter what. The odds of being reaped were very few for her or any other career. It would be a miracle if she were to be reaped. How she would react to that? She shrugged the thought off, she will only know when the time comes.
She gave a slight nod before he kissed her cheek. Of course she was alarmed by this, the only reason being that she hadn't felt the warmth of lips for a while. But she was used to it enough and fine with him that she didn't need to get him back for it. Normally she would, depending on how she was treated. Elizza nonetheless studied Thane as he spoke. The word amazing lingered in her head. Another uncommon word she heard people use towards her. No one had spoken to her like this in quite a while. She took the compliment and responded with a smile, not really knowing how to respond. “Thanks.”
Elizza snapped herself back to reality and let out a breath, biting her lip. She didn't like feeling so vulnerable. A thought came into her mind at that moment. Why not just sponsor me in the games? It brought a small smirk to her face and she looked back to him. “Well, did you still want me to show you around or something?” she asked forgetting all about his purpose for visiting and maybe even stopping her in the first place. There was nothing she had to do or go, at this time of day anyway. But she sort of didn't feel like moving from her spot on the ground, she'd go to that exact place many times alone.

Thane knew that if she ever did come to the capitol it would most likely because of the hunger games, maybe she'd be able to sneak away and come visit but he knew it was unlikely but maybe she could win in, then she'd be able to visit him. He hoped he'd see her again one day but he didnt really want it to do anything with the games but he knew it had to, he knew who he'd be routing for in those hunger games though.
"No need to thank me, i should thank you, you've opened my mind a little" he told her with a smile, he had a ton of things going on in his mind now, he had an entire new point of view on everything and he was certain the use of this new perspective would come in handy for him, in both his music and his life.
Thane didn't really feel like moving anymore, he was happy just sitting there with her keeping all his focus on her. "How about we just sit here, i think I've seen everything i need" he told her with a smile putting one of his hands on top of one of hers, he wasn't holding it, just resting it on top, Thane liked contact, it was comforting, relaxing and it made things feel more personal like they should be.

Elizza was somewhat glad she didn't have to get up from that spot. But she would have expected him to leave her there alone, although he had been away from home, where else was there to go? She glanced down at his hand that had rested on one of her own. She didn't move her hand away, but her eyebrows knitted together. “Okay,” she said airily. She didn't mind it, it was comforting in a way.
The thought of sitting in that spot with her friend before the reaping was like a flash of memory haunting her every time she sat there alone. But this time it was different, she wasn't alone. Just near that area was where she had her last normal conversation with Gabrielle. People always wondered why she would come to the place as default, and Elizza didn't have the decency to answer them, because she found the question so foolish. Many of the other careers knew they had been good friends and they still think that she let everything go. It had been Elizza's fault however, she acted as though she did.
Her first question popped into her mind once again. She still wondered why he had approached her. Was it because she had been the only one around that didn't look busy? Instead of racking her brain to figure it out herself, she looked to him and asked. “Why did you stop me?” Maybe it was because he needed to learn more about her district, and that she might help him out with that. No matter how silly it may have seemed, she was still surprised that anyone was even staying with her. She was still curious to know.

He spent a lot of his time just relaxing, it was a great way for him to clear his mind and just let anything come from its depths, he learnt a lot from just relaxing and thinking about a single specific thing.
Thane chuckled at her question, did he tell her the truth or make up something about her not looking busy. He pondered this for a second then decided to just tell her the truth "I approached you because you're hot" he told her with a small laugh. "Sorry if that is derogatory or somethin' i just saw you and though, wow, so i came over and spoke to you" he was kind of selfish really, he'd spoken to her to just fulfill his own needs and hell he had kind of but he wasn't sure how she would react to that, he just decided to wait and see.
Thane was somewhat of a male whore, he slept with a lot of women on a variety of occasions he had friends with benefits and he had people he'd slept with he didn't even know the name of. He kind of hoped she wasn't just gonna run off on him, he'd hoped it wouldn't have changed the little developing friendship, heck maybe it would develop it in some other way he hadn't seen coming.

What you waiting for? waiting for your life to end to begin again. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] No, you get back up and you try again !
It almost seemed as if he were thinking of an excuse to answer with. However when she heard his answer she scoffed, knowing this was the most truthful answer. If he had in fact said something else, she would have known better. Elizza knew guys well, especially with all of the things she had done to get on her mother's last nerve. Boy, did she get in trouble. That was only no more than a year ago. She wasn't as harsh nowadays, but she always had something hiding in the back of her mind. She still stayed respectable and strong no matter what, so she had normally been the one in control of any situation.
She wasn't surprised even though her expression changed to a smile. Elizza raised a brow at him and said, "Doesn't seem to surprise me." The blonde crossed her arms over her legs and shook her head. She tried hard not to think of it as surprising because he was a Capitol civilian. It wasn't fair but she managed to let the thought fade away. Thane was different than them, he was pretty normal.
Elizza wasn't one to leave someone just because she didn't like how they thought. She was rather accepting and only left if she really had to, or just for dramatic effect, which she liked to do after out-smarting another. Those type of people were snobs in her opinion, or just arrogant like some of the other Careers she knew. She tried her hardest not to be so stuck up, which sometimes she never really knew whether she was or not. She had hoped she wasn't of course, even though she doesn't mind showing off sometimes.

He was glad she'd not stormed off though, he was enjoying her company and he planned to enjoy it for a bit longer.
"You shouldn't have said that because now i'm gonna become a flirt and you'll end up really annoyed with me" he said with a small smirk, he'd actually somehow managed to annoy his way into bed with a few women, he wasn't sure how it even worked himself, he'd seem to be annoying the hell out of them then the next thing he knew he was in bed with them. "So.. no chance of casually making out then?" he joked with a smirk.
He still thought she was hot, his thoughts about her appearance were probably not gonna change for a long while but he'd gotten to know her and he honestly liked her as a person, of course he'd flirt but he'd never risk ruining what he'd discovered. Although he had to admit he wanted to make out with her, he's still one of those typical guys.
