It was a little after noon and Elizza Larkspur left the training academy without a word to the others. There was no one to talk to anymore. Ever since the death of her best friend, she had become focused on training not making friends. Elizza knew that this would be the year she would volunteer into the games. The chances of being reaped were very slim and she didn't want to stay in this district any longer. Or for better words, she didn't want to stay with her parents. She couldn't wait to be free and out of their tight hold on her. The strict rules they gave her and the unnecessary restrictions she had were ridiculous in her mind. Elizza only found one way out, and that was the games. This way she would be away from her parents and she would have the chance to show her strength and avenge Gabriella's death. She couldn't handle living in such restrictions any longer, even though she broke them everyday on purpose to show her own freedom to her parents. All she wanted was some respect towards her way of living. Nothing more, nothing less, and it seemed her mother would never budge.
Elizza walked on down a couple streets and shops, trying to decide where she should go. It was the weekend and all she had was training. She didn't feel much in the mood to eat yet and she certainly didn't want to go home. The blonde stopped and turned around deciding she would try and find her father around. He had been a peacekeeper and was barely ever home. Most other peacekeepers stay home most of the time but he chose not to, he chose to take over some of the other men's jobs. District 2 was rather lenient because it is one of the better favored districts and are known for their careers. It hadn't made any sense to her, and she had been a lot more fond of her father than her own mother. They were close and shared some qualities. It was always nice to just have a normal talk with her father. That was when she could really be herself. Around others she put on another side of her, a rebellious side that called for anything and everything to come her way.
After failing in attempt to find her father, Elizza ended up just sauntering around the houses, avoiding passing her own for good reason. There had to be something to do or somewhere to go. Or maybe even someone to meet. But here in District 2, many people knew her face but never actually spoke to her. She figured it was because she was a hard-core career. A focused and down-to-earth one, not one to prance around telling everyone. Elizza was proud of her progress and liked to show it off no doubt, but that didn't mean she would yell about it. The young woman crossed her arms and looked around the area, still trying to come up with something to do that would perhaps show up her mother.

He could feel everyone looking at him as he wondered about, at one point he thought he was going to get mugged but he was fairly sure he could handle himself well enough to at least get away if that happened, he was pretty fast and spent a lot of his time rehearsing on a treadmill. He probably should have dressed down a lot more but oh well it was too late now, he didn't have an extra set of clothes with him and there was no way he was going to just get changed in front of everyone, not because it would embarrass him, he just didn't trust them enough to not steal his stuff.
Then something caught his eye, well more someone than something. A girl who was just wandering about a lot like he was. Damn she's fine he thought to himself, wondering if there were more girls in the districts that looked like her, if there were he would probably be spending a lot more time in the districts as it seemed the players of the capitol hadn't discovered this gold mine yet. He strolled over to her and tapped her on one of the shoulders "Hey, you look bored" he stated with a small smirk, he had a feeling he was going to have some fun now, even if it was going nowhere, he enjoyed a good chase.

The thought of going back to the training center crossed her mind for a split second. It would be something to do and it would benefit her. The Reapings weren't too far from now and she had a feeling this would be her year. Although, it may be only her mind trying to make it happen. No one here was in charge of knowing the results. Not even the Capitol. However, the latter was always a possibility. She mentally rid of the thought and tried to clear her mind. She walked on with her hands at her sides and no real expression crossing her face. If only she had Gabriella here.
Elizza's eyes wondered around until they stopped up at the sky. How much she would give to leave. A small sigh escaped her mouth as she looked ahead of her now. Wandering aimlessly through the district, the district in which she had memorized by now. Although she stopped almost jumping back at the tap on her shoulder and a voice. She stepped back in defense, it was an instinct now, and faced the stranger that had approached her. It was a man all dressed in red, obviously not from the districts. By his appearance she knew that it was a Capitol. Her eyebrows furrowed at the boy before she said anything. It wasn't very often that Capitol civilians came to the districts, there must have been a specific reason. And if there was a good reason, why would he being stopping her in her path?
The blonde crossed her arms again and spoke at last, “You're from the Capitol.” She didn't quite care what he had said about her looking bored. Sure she was bored as heck, but she hadn't known it showed. Elizza was caught off guard in that case. She looked him over as she frowned, trying to figure him out. She wasn't too fond of Capitol people. And he had anything to do with the games, she had decided she would leave before he had the chance to say any more.

That was kind of true but he was slightly different, he'd got for a guy occasionally, he wasn't very stereotypical as much as he seemed to be. He liked his difference though, he could use it to make himself bigger and better although there was one thing that was very predictable about him, he wanted into pretty much every pretty person's pants.
He did look her up and down and get as much of an eyeful as he could before she'd notice though, he hadnt meant to make her jump however, there was part of him that felt bad for that, he didnt want to startle anyone but there was another part of him that he was ignoring completely that wanted to laugh, his childish side that would constantly be there in the back of his head, trying to get control and occasionally it did, sometime's he'd let it sometimes it'd just consume him.
"Nothing get's past you" he stated with a smirk, he knew he looked like someone from the capitol, he could tell by her tone of voice she wasn't exactly thrilled with him being from the capitol. Capitol people must seem like douche bag's here he thought to himself, then again he thought the same about a lot of them. I cant put that in a song, i'll get my tongue chopped off he thought almost letting out a sigh but not letting it get past his lips, he had a decent impression to make, sighing to himself wasn't going to help at all. After looking the Capitol over he seemed harmless. However she still wanted to know his angle, his reason for coming to District 2, it wasn't very often that a Capitol visited the districts. Moreover it was before Reapings. Elizza tilted her head at his next comment, smirking slightly. She took it as a compliment. Hearing that no one could get past her made her feel accomplished in a way he would never understand. He wasn't a trained career, waiting to kill others in the arena. Although that seemed an overstatement. The Careers weren't there to kill, even if they surely made it happen more often in the games, but they were their to win - to bring pride to our districts. It was a nice way to think of things, however not when someone you knew was a career and had died in the same games.
It was a wicked thought at the moment but it brought her back to attention. Back to the attention of the red covered man in front of her. He introduced himself as Thane. No handshake or anything. It seemed strange not to do so, seeing as he was a Capitol civilian. She didn't recognize the name very well, so she assumed he wasn't associated with the games. Although she still wanted to be sure. Now, revealing her own name was risky. Who knew if she was even suppose to be talking to this stranger? What if he was some kind of test or maybe even someone who was going to take her away to the Capitol? None of it seemed possible, but in Elizza's eyes anything could be made possible.
So, instead of revealing her name to him, Elizza simply questioned him. "What do you do?" It was a reasonable question as well as one she wanted to know. She didn't necessarily care what he thought of her at the moment. If Elizza wanted information she was sure to get it without problem, so she hoped.

He liked that though, mystery was a turn on, in fact a lot of things were a turn on. He tried to be friendly and open as girl tended to feel safe with a smiley face but then again that was capitol girls, from the impression she was giving him it seemed that district girls were a lot more tougher.. maybe he had to treat her like a guy, he was still working on his approach and he'd decided he'd have to edit it as he goes along or else he'd risk failing miserably.
He noticed she didn't give him her name like any usual person would, was she scared her name would mean something to him or what? He wasn't sure what was going on in the girls head but he liked it, she made him curious and that was something he enjoyed being. "I'm a musician" he said, kind of telling the truth, he couldn't really play any instruments but he could sing and rap and he knew how to use recording equipment so he felt he could call himself a musician, it sounded more impressive than just a singer.
He also messed around in the world of comedy from time to time but that was a secret hobby he didn't really want many people to know about as he knew he wasn't very good at it. He'd decided he probably wasn't going to get any information out of her what so ever so he simply crossed his arms and rested all his weight onto the one leg, he did notice she had a nice voice, his mind began wandering, maybe she could sing something and he could use it in a song, he decided he wouldn't do that though, he'd probably get told off by the capitol and that was the last thing he wanted. He may act like he's not afraid of nothing but that was all it was, an act, he was terrified of the things the capitol could do to him.

Elizza loosened up a bit after hearing that he was a musician. At least he hadn't been one of the new escorts. She doubted that however. Escorts seemed either very uptight or too outgoing for themselves. They seemed to try hard, but with Thane it was different. Although that didn't change her mind about where he was probably born, in the Capitol. "Oh," she said in an almost interested tone. She didn't listen to music much, or even sing for that matter. There had been only once when she had sang, and that was when she was very young. She felt out of place in that field because she had no connection to it. It didn't seem as important there for Elizza. Whereas the Capitol civilians have all the time in the world to listen to music a million times and even appreciated it.
She began to wonder what instruments he had played, if any. But if she were to ask it wouldn't interest her too much. It was just like asking how are you. Did people really care how the other person was doing? It was sad in a way, but then again Elizza would much rather spend her time wisely rather than having an insignificant conversation. So instead of asking she let her name slip off her tongue, "Well, I'm Elizza." She found herself looking around the area. There wasn't really a good reason, but it had become another habit, one that would do her good someday. The girl also thought of what her mother would say to all of this. Speaking to a Capitol musician. She would either hate it or love it. However, the fact that it was a man not a woman, she figured her mother would freak. The thought brought a slight smirk to her face for a moment.
Elizza tilted her head once more, glancing behind him a second before letting her eyes fall back to Thane. She thought that she might as well take the chance now, it wasn't too often that Capitol folk came to the district. She let her weight become equal between her two feet and opened her mouth. "So, why are you here?" Her eyebrows knitted together in interest of his reasoning for being here. Or maybe why he had stopped her in her path. Elizza let her hands hang onto her hips as she waited for her answer.

A small smile came to his face as he felt she might have been getting used to him, that was what he wanted, he wanted her to feel like he wasn't a threat well actually he kind wanted to get into her pants but he knew that wasn't going to happen, partly because he didn't know her at all yet and she seemed too cautious and partly because they were kind of out in the open, although he was sure he could find somewhere private if he had to.
Then she told him her name, he felt a lot more comfortable now, not entirely sure why he felt comfortable now though, it was just a name. Not much to go by. "That's a nice name" he told her with a smile, it was nice, Elizza he liked the 'zz' bit it was a noise. Maybe he could use some in his songs, but that wasnt what was on his mind right now, it was play time for him, all work and no play makes Thane a dull boy after all.
Why am i here he thought to himself as she asked him, he wasn't entirely sure what had made him pick this district or what he was actually looking for exactly. "I'm here for inspiration" he said simply, would that be good enough, he wasn't sure but that was all he had, if she wanted more information he'd have to just pull it out of thin air as he goes along.

Elizza didn't respond when Thane had called her name nice. A lot of people thought so and she was used to getting the compliment about it. But did she think the name was a great as it sounded? Probably not. That's only because she hears it come from her mother's mouth too often. That didn't mean, however, she despised it, she was just used to it. She didn't find names the most important thing anyway. Names normally didn't have too much to do with a person. It was mostly the person's choice on how they act, nothing can accurately be determined by a name. The blonde didn't quite care either way, she went on asking her question about why he came.
Looking behind her as he spoke, she scoffed before turning her focus back to him. "Your music, I'm guessing?" She let a small smile cross her face before continuing. "Well, unless you want to write a song about blood thirsty tributes or the sorrowful lives of the lower districts, you won't get too much." It was true, unless he saw something different in the districts. That was her view on it, but she was only focused on such things, so coming from her it may not be accurate.
Elizza wasn't too sure what the music would be like in the Capitol, but she was curious all the same. Thane didn't seem like the stereotypical Capitol civilian. He seemed more laid back and a lot less talkative. This she liked because it made her feel more comfortable even if she was still unsure about him.

He was different from most in the way he didn't really care about what people thought of him, he was always himself just different versions of himself at different intensities depending on the situation, he wanted to be remembered as who he was not some faker, he hated two faced people it was one of the things that was just plain annoying.
Thane noticed she seemed to look around a lot, whether she was expecting someone to come or looking around because she didn't want to be seen talking to him he wasn't really sure but he managed to ignore it well enough, he'd worry about it when it became more of a situation. A smirk crept onto his face as she scoffed, probably not a reaction she expected but it was his reaction anyway, he'd got her to relax a little and it seemed she was going to open up a little bit for him.
"Yeah, my music" he stated smiling as he noticed a smile on her face, I'm getting somewhere he thought to himself then smirked at what she said, maybe it was wrong for someone from the capitol to find what she said kind of amusing but he had, if that made him a bad person he was fine with it. "What about a song about beauty in a dreadful place?" he asked, smirk still strong on his face, he was proud with that and he was sure he was going to get some inspiration from this encounter.

Elizza raised a brow at his response. It was almost as if he had found some joy in the thought of those blood thirsty tributes, slaughtering each other in the games. Of course he had, he was from the Capitol. Somehow she was glad to know something normal about this man. It made her feel less vulnerable knowing some things. And that was always the last thing she wanted to be, vulnerable. She absolutely hated the fact ever since she was little. It was harder then not to seem vulnerable, but now it seemed a bit easier, now that she was a career. The idea really did help her in some ways. She also liked to challenge her parents, which made her stronger.
She thought a moment on what he had said. A slight hum escaped her mouth as she looked him over again. She wasn't one to fish around for compliments. She felt she had better things to do. “Well,” she began. “If that's what you want to do. By all means.” The small smile on her face faded and she dropped her arms. She didn't like just standing there, she needed to always be moving in some way. Elizza thought that she might as well keep talking to Thane since she had nothing else to do. And he didn't seem to want to go anywhere. “Do you wanna walk? Because I honestly hate just standing around.”
Elizza wasn't really one to hide much except her feelings at times. She never once spoke about Gabrielle after her death. If no one had none her, they would think she had just moved on and forgotten. However that was the complete opposite. She couldn't bare the thoughts ad images that haunted her. And this is why she is mostly alone. Except for this day. How unusual was it that a Capitol would come to District 2 and approach her? Very, she supposed, but anything was possible.
The blonde began walking in the direction she had been going before he had stopped her. It seemed better walking anyway. She would glance his way once or twice trying to figure him out. Either he was really willing to do anything for inspiration and experience or he was just fishing around. Elizza couldn't tell quite yet.

He'd planned on looking around some more with or without her permission but the fact she seemed fine with it was comforting, he could use somebody who knows the area, partly so he doesn't get lost but also partly because if he was with someone from the area he was less likely to get robbed. He wasn't even sure how likely him getting robbed was but he'd rather not find out.
"Sure, lets walk" he said with a small shrug, he didn't mind where they were going, if she didn't like standing around he'd happily oblige. Maybe they'd go somewhere a little more private and he could get his flirt on, but he would just have to wait a little, he still wasnt one hundred percent sure about her just yet.
Thane started to walk with her, looking around at his surroundings and taking them in then occasionally looking back her and smiling slightly. "So.. what do you do for fun around here?" he asked her curiously, he was all about having fun, if something wasn't fun he simply wouldn't do it, someone else would do it for him, although that attitude was acceptable at the capitol he doubted it was in any of the districts.

District 2 had to be the only district where fun could be described as anything. Elizza tried to think of exactly what she did for fun. She knew, however, that whatever she said either wouldn't make sense or wouldn't interest him. Why did she care?
Elizza bit her lip before saying a word. She thought she could just say what she used to do when Gabrielle was alive, since nowadays all she did was train and challenge her parents. It would be more significant if he was looking for inspiration.
"Well," she began, looking about and trying to hide her true emotions. "Besides training, for us careers anyway, we would either have huge pranks at school, take visits to the military bases, or even have our own secret parties in the square or near the mountains." She left it at that. That was mostly what the others did, not herself. Now to come to think of it, Elizza's fun left to the Capitol to be slaughtered in the arena. Nothing has been the same since.
She wondered what he thought of it all, living in the Capitol it may not seem like fun or it may seem rather small. Of course it was. However, their parties weren't full of crazy looking people just eating and talking. They used to dance or even drink at times. Elizza missed it but she couldn't do any of it anymore. Gabrielle was the one that introduced her to all the fun. A small smile crept onto her face at the thought of her helpless self back then. Look at her now, a complete opposite.

He was wondering if he should just ask her or if that would be way too blunt and she'd just walk off, he didn't want that to happen but his curiosity was bound to get the better of him eventually, he'd have to try and hold it back for as long as he figured he could without randomly out bursting. He made mental notes of all the things she said, he could never really understand careers though, he'd always thought of them as weird psychopaths who either loved to kill, which in itself horrified him slightly or they wanted to die, which again wasn't very nice.
He decided not to mention anything about the careers and just concentrate on the other things. "Secret parties huh?" he said, maybe some things were similar, he used to sneak out to go to parties all the time when he was younger and still living with his parents, he'd even hosted a few.
"Erm.. where are we going?" he asked after they'd been walking for a while, was she leading him somewhere or had she just been mindlessly walking around, if it was the later he hoped to god she hadn't got him completely lost. He looked around, nobody seemed to be around right now, that was slightly comforting and yet also gave the place a slightly eerie feel for him anyway, being so far from home. His curiosity then peaked and he took her hand.
"Are you okay?" he asked holding her hand in both of his, the hand holding thing was just a method he'd learnt that made people either open up more easily, give you their attention or relax them, but on some people it would backfire, he didn't care though, she seemed to have a problem and he wanted to help if he could.

What you waiting for? waiting for your life to end to begin again. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] No, you get back up and you try again !
“Yup, believe it or not,” she said in a slightly sarcastic tone. Capitol people really hadn't known that the people in the districts had that kind of fun. Of course they had! However she had to remember how different they were almost like two different worlds in one. More like thirteen different worlds in one, due to the differences between the districts. Elizza never really cared for the other districts that much, or really thought about them. It seemed to be a waste of her time, whereas she would only have to worry about her own district, her home. But no matter what she always wondered about what the Capitol was like ever so often. She was determined to find out one day. That day would have to be the day of the opening ceremonies, when she will stand next to her partner as tribute to represent District 2. The image would stay in her head until the time came, and hopefully it would...
They had been walking for a while and she had barely noticed where they were heading. Elizza didn't have anywhere to go or anywhere she would really need to show Thane. Once the question popped up, Elizza took a moment to really look around at where they were. She knew the area well, so the possibilities of being lost were out of the question. “I don't know,” she said airily as she glanced around. They were on the outskirts of the residents now. She normally came here to be alone. It must have been a subconscious destination.
Elizza stopped when he had taken her hand in both of his. A frown crossed her face and she tilted her head at the question. Am I okay? she wondered herself. There was an almost automatic answer but it wouldn't be right. Then again, no one had ever really asked her this simple question. It wasn't very often that anyone would even care about it. She thought, maybe it was something Capitol people did or asked regularly. It almost made the districts seem selfish. Elizza shook the thought from her mind and pulled her hand away. “Why would you care?”
Her curiosity grew and she put her hands on her hips, the frown still somewhat visible. Normally Capitol civilians wouldn't care about anyone in the districts enough to ask how they are. The response was always a surprise in someone even asking. She thought that maybe the answer was the same for most in her districts. Except for those arrogant career boys, they seemed to have everything and anything they wanted. However, everyone has their secrets.
